Nudging: The Noticeable Impact of Unnoticeable Changes

If you’ve ever changed your order at a restaurant after reviewing your entrée’s caloric information or met a new coworker around the coffee machine, then you’ve been successfully nudged.

Nudge Theory is the concept of influencing an individual’s behavior and decision making through altering their environment or changing the way in which decisions are presented. Nudging has recently become a popular subject in governmental policy making, and has been used to improve the public’s diet, grow the rate at which citizens pay taxes, and increase the number of people who sign up to be Organ Donors.

We’ll explore how Nudge Theory has been utilized by governments and business around the world, and discuss small changes that you can make to enhance decision making and collaboration within your team.
